FLNG Hilli Episeyo leaves Singapore early

LNG shipping company Golar LNG has informed that the FLNG Hilli Episeyo departed Singapore at 10:00 local time on Thursday, October 12.

Initially, the vessel was expected to leave Singapore between October 15 and October 20.

Golar LNG said that the departure was earlier than anticipated departure due to an operational decision to complete LNG bunkering in Cameroon rather than in Singapore.

According to the company, the voyage to Cameroon is expected to take between 32 and 40 days.

To remind, Offshore Energy Today reported that the Hilli Episeyo left Keppel’s shipyard on October 1 after reaching mechanical completion.

Following the departure from the shipyard, the world’s first converted Floating Liquefaction (FLNG) vessel was moved to deep-water anchorage where Keppel Shipyard completed final marine commissioning.

Upon its completion, the FLNG unit will be put in operation offshore Kribi, Cameroon, for Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon.

Hilli Episeyo was converted from the 1975-built Moss LNG carrier with a storage capacity of 125,000 m3. It was designed for a liquefaction capacity of about 2.4 million tonnes of LNG per annum.

The vessel was named Hilli Episeyo at a ceremony in Keppel Shipyard in early July.
