The installation of the first Beatrice Offshore Transformer Module (OTM) has been completed with the OTM 1 topside now placed on its jacket foundation that was installed earlier this month.

The 588MW offshore wind farm, being built in the Outer Moray Firth in Scotland, will comprise two Siemens OTMs and 84 Siemens Gamesa 7MW wind turbines, all mounted on jacket foundations.

Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL) has installed 41 of the total of 86 jackets so far, including the one for the first OTM.

The first turbines are expected to be installed this summer, with the wind farm scheduled to become fully operational in 2019.

The offshore wind farm is being developed by Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd., a joint venture partnership between SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power Ltd.
