There, the jacket will be transferred onto Heerema Marine Contractors’ semi-submersible crane vessel Sleipnir which will install the 3,200-ton unit at the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm zone.

Eversendai Offshore cut the first steel for the six-legged jacket at its fabrication yard in RAK Maritime City in September 2019.

The jacket foundation and the accompanying pin piles will support a 700 MW topside currently under construction at Drydocks World’s yard in Dubai.

Petrofac is the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contractor for TenneT’s HKZ Alpha and Beta offshore substations.

The Hollandse Kust Zuid zone comprises four offshore wind farms that will be connected to HKZ Alpha and HKZ Beta.

The 1.5 GW project is being developed by Vattenfall. Once operational in 2023, Hollandse Kust Zuid will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
