European Clients Show Great Interest in Damen Stan Tugs

Last week, 10 fully equipped Damen Stan Tugs arrived in Gorinchem for delivery from stock. Almost immediately, two of them (of the STu 1606 design) were sold to a European client. The tugs were all built at Damen Shipyards Changde and consist of three types: the STu 1606, the STu 1205 and the STu 1004.

These models typically fit in Damen’s approach to ship design: the standardisation of proven technology, based on client feedback and scientific research.

As with these three models, this leads to vessel-types that have proven their worth over the decades. Once a standard has been set, R&D doesn’t stop and Damen’s design engineers, service engineers and sales managers continuously collect feedback to improve the existing standard.
