Esvagt CEO Resigns to Take Same Role at Blue Water Shipping

Esvagt CEO Søren Nørgaard Thomsen has left the company to become the CEO of Blue Water Shipping, where he will replace the company’s founder and CEO Kurt Skov. 

At Esvagt, Kristian Ole Jakobsen, who held the position of Chief Operating Officer, will take over as Interim CEO from today, 20 December. At Blue Water Shipping, Kurt Skov will return to his role as executive chairman for the company.

3i Infrastructure plc and AMP Capital, ESVAGT’s shareholders, welcomed Kristian Ole Jakobsen to the position and added that that they are currently focused on finding the permanent CEO.

“Blue Water is a large company which covers widely both geographically as well as in its activities. By employing Søren, the foundation, competencies and experience in Management will be strengthened considerably,” former Blue Water Shipping’s CEO Kurt Skov said in September, upon announcing the senior management change. ”

“The aim is that we can create better stability in our business in the future – among other things through improved profits and a more focused strategy. With his comprehensive experience, I am sure that Søren can contribute to bringing Blue Water forward in the right direction and pace in close interaction with the rest of Management,” Skov said.
