As disclosed, the bunkering operation was carried out with EPS-managed LNG dual-fuel containership CMA CGM Hope. The 15,000 TEU ship received fuel at Yangshan, Shanghai.

EPS highlighted that this is a “significant milestone” since the company started its first LNG bunkering operations four years ago. Furthermore, the firm noted that it will stay committed to its ongoing efforts to support cleaner energy alternatives in the shipping industry as it works towards net zero.

In May this year, EPS wrapped up its 200th LNG bunkering with pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) CMA CGM Daytona. The 700 CEU ship received 930 cubic meters of LNG from Pavilion Energy’s bunker vessel LBV Brassavola.

As part of its decarbonization drive, EPS recently ordered six ultra-large ethane carriers in China, which will be equipped with energy-saving technologies to make them suitable for the net-zero future.

The shipowner ordered the vessels at Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
