EnQuest COO and executive director steps down

The chief operating officer (COO) and executive director of UK-based oil and gas company EnQuest has decided to step down from his positions in the company.

EnQuest said Monday that COO Neil McCulloch would step down on Monday, December 11, as a result of a mutual agreement.

The company added that it appointed Faysal Hamza as the interim head of North Sea and Bob Davenport as a managing director for the North Sea, reporting to Faysal.

Before joining EnQuest, Davenport led Apache’s North Sea operations. Hamza and Davenport previously worked together on EnQuest’s operations in Malaysia. John Penrose will replace Davenport as the managing director for Malaysia.

Jock Lennox, chairman of EnQuest, said: “The board would like to thank Neil for his unstinting contribution to EnQuest during a challenging period for both the company and industry. We wish him well for the future.”

Earlier this month, EnQuest completed the acquisition of interest in BP’s UK North Sea Magnus oil field, in the Sullom Voe Oil terminal and supply facility and additional interests in associated infrastructure.

Also, the company’s Kraken development in the UK North Sea reached production levels of 40,000 bopd in late November with plans in place to increase production to 50,000 bopd in the first half of 2018.

EnQuest has interests in 24 UK production licenses, 22 of these operated by the company, and the PM8/Seligi production sharing contract and Tanjong Baram risk services contract in Malaysia.
