Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) has appointed NMDC Energy to perform the installation of subsea gas pipelines, as well as onshore engineering, construction, and dredging works for the second renewal project of the Tung-Hsiao Power Plant in Taiwan.

The Abu Dhabi-headquartered firm is responsible for the design, construction, and installation of marine pipelines at depths ranging from 10 to 55 meters, extending between Taichung and Tung-Hsiao on Taiwan’s west coast.

This includes the execution of works to connect the pipeline between the shore and the offshore area, over a distance of approximately 1,000 meters between the offshore section and the landfall, and dredging operations of approximately 6 million cubic meters.

The work will be carried out in partnership with NMDC Dredging & Marine.

“This massive project, valued at $1.136 billion, enhances NMDC Energy’s presence in Taiwan and actively supports its contributions to renewable energy initiatives. This significant project is expected to significantly increase the company’s revenue and solidify its position as a global leader in the energy and marine engineering sectors, reaffirming its strategic vision to reach the pinnacle of this industry,” NMDC Energy said.
