The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is looking to expand its team with several new job openings set up to support the activities at the testing center.

EMEC is looking for a new operations and technology director whose main responsibility will be to ensure that the operations at EMEC are planned and executed in a safe and professional manner to meet client and regulatory objectives.

The candidate will also drive technology development across a portfolio of pioneering industry projects, according to EMEC.

Based in Orkney, the post is permanent and full-time, with the deadline date for applications set for May 5, 2017.

Also, EMEC is seeking a performance test engineer to deliver the center’s marine energy testing and performance assessment services into collaborative R&D projects. The scope of work for the position includes developing and maintaining test software and equipment, analyzing and interpreting test results, and preparing technical reports for clients.

The third position opened at EMEC is that of contracts and grants administrator, whose main role will be to ensure an accurate, efficient and transparent process for the grant lifecycle from proposal to project close.

Both posts are full-time for a fixed term of 2 years, EMEC informed.

EMEC is a test facility for wave and tidal energy converters located in Orkney, Scotland, having supported more real-sea deployments than at any other site in the world.
