EMEC: Free marine renewables components testing

Authorities & Government

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), together with the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, is offering free component testing to support the development of wave and tidal energy converters.

The goal of the project is to help the industry gain better understanding of issuses regarding component reliability, consequently improving performance and reducing the cost of marine energy.

EMEC states the project will undertake a programme of analytical testing of any type of component that has been used in an operational marine converter and retrieved from a device that has undergone testing at sea.

The project targets energy developers, component manufacturers and other supply chain companies.

Interested parties need to complete an online survey by April 24, 2015, to apply for participation.
