Eidesvik said on Monday that Equinor awarded a five-year time charter contract for the Viking Energy PSV.

The company added that the contract also includes extension options which were in Equinor’s favor.

According to Eidesvik, the new contract will begin in direct continuation of the current contract ending April 2020.

It is worth reminding that Offshore Energy Today reported on a previous extension back in 2018. Before that, the vessel was awarded an extension from November 2015. The extension awarded at the time was for two years, starting April 2016.

The Viking Energy was built by the Kleven Verft shipyard in Ulsteinvik, Norway. The vessel is 95 meters long and 20.4 wide and can accommodate 20 people.

According to AIS data from Sunday, the platform supplier is currently located offshore Norway.
