Eidesvik lands new contracts for two platform suppliers

Eidesvik, a Norway-based owner of offshore support and construction ships, has secured contracts for two of its platform supply vessels (PSVs).

Eidesvik said that the Viking Prince PSV was awarded a contract with Decipher Production for operation on the UK continental shelf.

The contract will begin in February 2018 and is scheduled to last for 85 days.

Following this contract, the Viking Prince will continue to a contract for Shell to support drilling of two exploration wells, one on Tyttebær close to the Knarr field and the other on Coeus close to Ormen Lange field, both on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

According to the company, these two contracts will secure employment for the vessel up to and through the third quarter of 2018.

Also, the Viking Queen platform supplier was awarded a contract with Saipem for the support of its pipe-laying vessel Castorone.

Castorone will be working on laying pipes from the Johan Sverdrup field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea to Mongstad and Kårstø oil and gas terminals in Norway.

The duration of the contract is estimated to be between 100 and 160 days with start-up scheduled in March/April 2018.
