The company will deliver 30 transition pieces for the project.

Hornsea Two will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines on monopile foundations, and an offshore substation and a reactive compensation station (RCS) which will be installed on jackets.

EEW OSB’s parent company, EEW, will manufacture and deliver the 165 monopiles, while Danish Bladt Industries is supplying 135 transition pieces.

DEME Offshore is in charge of foundation installation and has contracted Jumbo Shipping for the transport of foundations. Jumbo will transport the 165 monopiles from Rostock, Germany, and 135 TPs from Aalborg, Denmark, to Eemshaven, the Netherlands. The transportation is expected to begin this month.

The two jacket foundations for the project’s offshore substation and RCS are currently on their way from Indonesia to the UK.

Ørsted’s 1.4 GW Hornsea Project Two, located 89 kilometres north-east of Grimsby, is scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.
