Dutch tidal firm seeks hydraulic cylinder partner

Business & Finance

Netherlands-based tidal energy firm, whose name was not disclosed, is looking for partners experienced in hydraulic cylinder technology to further develop its tidal power plants.

The unnamed company is interested to enter into a manufacturing agreement with a partner who is the owner and manufacturer of hydraulic cylinder technology, using environmentally-friendly fluids as opposed to oil, it is stated on Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) website.

The company seeking partners noted that if the interested party does not yet manufacture the technology then the Dutch company would be willing to enter into a research cooperation agreement to develop the technology further.

Types of partnerships under consideration include manufacturing and research cooperation agreements in the UK, Ireland, France or Germany, according to EEN, a business support network led by Innovate UK.

The company said the hydraulic cylinder technology would contribute to its power take-off (PTO) solution concept, and should be at technology readiness level 4 and higher.

Tidal Energy Today has contacted EEN seeking more information about the company. Should EEN respond, the article will updated accordingly.
