DHI joins World Ocean Council

Authorities & Government

DHI aims to better engage in sustainable development of the marine and coastal environment by collaborating with the diverse community that comprises the World Ocean Council (WOC).

DHI wants to contribute to major commercial developments in relation to the sustainable use of the world’s oceans, the company’s press release reads.

Andreas Brogaard Buhl, Head of the Ecology and Environment Department for DHI Denmark, said: “We will be part of the ocean business community in a new way. This will enable us to engage even more with large private companies working at sea that want to reduce environmental risks and protect nature.”

The WOC is the international, cross-sectoral alliance for private sector leadership and collaboration in ‘Corporate Ocean Responsibility’, and is comprised of over 70 organizations from a wide range of ocean industries including renewable energy, ocean technology, marine environmental services and other areas.

DHI has 50 years of experience dedicated to building knowledge and technology to solve the world’s challenges in water environments. The company aims make this knowledge globally accessible to clients and partners by channelling it through local teams and software.
