The jacket foundation for the Deutsche Bucht offshore substation has arrived at the installation site in the German North Sea and will be installed as soon as there is a suitable weather window, a spokesperson for Northland Deutsche Bucht GmbH told Offshore WIND.

The substation topside has been towed from Vlissingen to Eemshaven in the Netherlands, as the way to the construction site is shorter from there, the spokesperson said.

The topside will be shipped to the construction site when the installation of the jacket is well advanced and there is a suitable weather window for the topside installation.

The 269MW Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm is located some 95 kilometres northwest of the Borkum Island.

It will comprise of 33 MHI Vestas 8.4MW wind turbines installed on 31 monopile foundations and two mono bucket foundations.
