The 740km HVDC link will connect Revsing in South Jutland, Denmark, and Bicker Fen in Lincolnshire, UK.

Munck Supply Lines is set to begin installing the land cable in the late summer of 2021 from the beach at Houstrup to the converter station, where the cable will be connected to the Danish electricity grid.

NKT will manufacture and deliver the onshore cables to be installed in Denmark.

Prysmian Group is in charge of providing 1,250km cable for the project’s submarine route and all of the approximately 135km of land cables on the UK side.

Laying of the submarine cable is expected to begin in the spring next year, while the 1,400 MW interconnector will go into operation at the end of 2023.
