CSS launches first aid course for offshore workers

Operations & Maintenance

Complete Site Safety (CSS) has launched a first aid course designed for offshore workers.

The Clinical Observation & Medical Assessment (COMA) course is created for those industries which do not have immediate access to emergency aid in the event of an accident.

With workforces expected to work further offshore and in more remote locations, CSS has identified the need for a more in-depth skill set to work safely in these isolated conditions.

The course is aimed at people who work in environments such as the offshore renewable energy industry and it focuses the monitoring of casualties immediately after an accident and the provision of pre-hospital care.

The modules include casualty management, awareness of medical emergency drugs, baseline observations, autonomy, ballistic trauma control, contaminates, and treatment plans communication protocols.
