Coretrax, a specialist in wellbore clean-up and abandonment, has appointed a global business development director to focus on the expansion of the company’s global presence.

John Fraser joined Coretrax in 2010 as business development manager and has recently been promoted to the newly-created position. Fraser will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the oil and gas sector in the UK and overseas, with a particular focus on the Middle East region.

Coretrax says that Fraser’s promotion is part of the company’s on-going strategy for international growth.

Fraser has 20 years’ experience in the industry, working in several roles at Halliburton prior to joining Coretrax. According to the company, there he combined his technical knowledge and commercial awareness to lead a business development team that successfully initiated a wellbore clean-up division for service tools in Aberdeen.

“The company has achieved rapid growth in recent years and I look forward to developing the next stage of our expansion,” John Fraser said.

Director and founder of Coretrax, Kenny Murray, said: “John has been an integral part of the Coretrax team for many years and this new position will allow him to focus on global commercial opportunities in particular within the Middle East, which is of real importance to our strategic growth plans.

“We have established an excellent reputation for innovative technological solutions and impeccable customer service and John’s comprehensive knowledge of completion and intervention tools places him as the ideal person to identify further opportunities to continue our strong year on year growth.”

Fraser has also been heavily involved in the design and introduction of new products both in the UK and overseas markets including the award-winning CX-IST (Inflation Support Tool) which was developed to enhance the placement of a cement plug or a well barrier fluid, Coretrax says.

Commenting on his appointment, John Fraser said: “I am delighted to have received this promotion at an exciting time for Coretrax, as we focus on developing our presence globally. The company has achieved rapid growth in recent years and I look forward to developing the next stage of our expansion.”
