Cosco Guangdong Shipyard Holds Naming Ceremony for APJ SHIRIN

On April 1st 2012, Cosco Guangdong Shipyard held naming ceremony for the third new building bulk carrier ordered by Apeejay Shipping company. Chairman, Mr. Karan Paul named Hull N221 (57000 DWT of SDARI design) “APJ SHIRIN”.

The vessel was christened by Chairperson Emeritus, Mrs. Shirin Paul.

Cosco Shipyard hosted a grand banquet on the same day which was attended by Family Directors, top management of the shipyard, Lloyd’s register, Apeejay Shipping as well as Apeejay’s on-site supervision team and senior officers of the ship.

As a high-class repair enterprise in the areas of south China, COSCO GuangDong Shipyard is equipped with a Panama size DWT 80,000 floating dock, a DWT 150,000 dock, four repair berths, a deep quay of 1200m, and 200,000 m2 land area as well as other perfect facilities. COSCO (Guang Dong) Shipyard possesses a team of experienced engineers and skilled workers.
