GR Engineering Services informed on Tuesday that its subsidiary, Upstream PS, had been awarded a new five-year contract, with an option for a further two years, so that, it can provide commissioning, completions, and operations support services for Chevron Australia.

In regards to Chevron’s operations in Australia, the energy giant claims to be the largest holder of natural gas resources in the country and natural gas is a large segment of the firm’s global energy portfolio.

Moreover, a significant portion of natural gas produced by Chevron-operated Gorgon, Wheatstone, as well as the Woodside-operated North West Shelf project is exported as liquefied natural gas (LNG) to premier LNG buyers in Asia.

In addition, natural gas is also supplied via Western Australia’s pipeline network and sold into the Western Australian domestic gas market.

Geoff Jones, GR Engineering’s Managing Director, commented on the new contract: “Upstream PS has a well-established track record in the supply of safe and efficient operations and maintenance services in Australia.”

The scope of services covered by this contract includes commissioningready-for-start-upcompletions, and execution of operations support activities and associated support at Chevron-operated natural gas facilities in Western Australia.

However, the company explains that any work performed under the contract will be subject to Chevron’s direction and the approval of work orders for specific services.

Cameron Wills, Upstream PS CEO, remarked: “The industry experience we have gained over the past twenty-five years combined with our health, safety, environmental and quality expertise and local  content commitment, leave Upstream PS well placed to deliver outstanding results for our clients, our team and the local community.”

When it comes to some of the industry experience amassed by Upstream PS, it is worth reminding that the company secured a deal in May 2020 with the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, allowing the firm to provide operations and maintenance services for the FPSO Northern Endeavour.
