Chart’s unit opens LNG fueling station in India

Chart Industries said its unit VRV Asia Pacific, together with Unison Enviro have commissioned India’s first combined city gas distribution and LNG fueling facility. 

Located in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra State in India, the station was designed and built in-country by VRV AP, Chart said.

It utilizes LNG to bring natural gas energy to an area not connected to the grid and also provides CNG for natural gas vehicles.

Natural gas is fundamental to India meeting its commitment of reducing carbon emissions by 1/3rd and the first combined distribution and fueling station is a potential game-changer in developing the associated infrastructure, Chart Industries said.
