The 406.7MW wind farm is located in the Danish North Sea and comprises 49 MHI Vestas 8.3MW wind turbines installed on monopile foundations. The first transition pieces are expected to be installed mid-July.

Brave Tern recently underwent a crane boom extension at Damen Shipyard in Amsterdam which has enabled the vessel to handle the largest turbines in the market, such as the MHI Vestas V164 model.

The Horns Rev 3 turbines were initially scheduled to be installed by A2SEA’s Sea Installer. This vessel is currently installing turbines on the Rentel offshore wind farm in the Belgian North Sea.

Vattenfall expects to commission the Horns Rev 3 wind farm in 2020.
