The Horizon Zenith vessel is deployed by Boskalis’ UAE-headquartered subsidiary Horizon Geosciences in the Middle East.

According to the company, the vessel is equipped with all the required equipment to conduct a variety of offshore surveys and features a moonpool over which a heave-compensated geotechnical drill rig can be placed from which cone penetration tests and geotechnical soil samples can be taken.

In addition, there is a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) on board that can be used to conduct visual surveys and the vessel is capable of launching small boats to conduct surveys in very shallow areas, less than 10 meters deep, Boskalis said.

This latest news comes on the heels of Boskalis commissioning its new cable-laying vessel (CLV) BOKA Ocean earlier this year, following a major conversion program.

The Dutch company also recently installed a new energy storage system on board its diving support vessel (DSV) BOKA Atlantis as part of the efforts to make its fleet more sustainable.
