Bolette Dolphin drillship gets important DNV-GL certificate

Norwegian contractor Dolphin Drilling has achieved international accreditation of a maintenance management system onboard its latest deepwater drillship, following a rigorous assessment from one of the largest classification bodies in ship and offshore certification.

Dolphin Drilling, an independent contractor of mobile drilling units, worked with Aberdeen and Stavanger-based SAP software specialist for upstream oil and gas, Absoft, to implement a computerised maintenance management system onboard its new, state-of-the-art Bolette Dolphin drillship.

DNV-GL carried out a thorough evaluation of the SAP planned maintenance system, implemented onboard the Bolette Dolphin, and awarded the certification after the solution met the stringent requirements of Rules for Classification of Ships.
The planned maintenance management system operates within NORSOK standard Z008, which is a risk-based maintenance and consequence classification developed by the Norwegian petroleum industry, for preparation and optimisation of maintenance activities for equipment and plant.
