The vessel has so far installed eight out of the 56 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines at the site some 57 kilometres off the north-west coast of Germany.

The turbines are being installed on 36 monopile foundations and 20 suction bucket jacket foundations.

Back in April, Van Oord started installing the cables to connect the turbines to the offshore substation. The wind farm will also be connected to the nearby Borkum Riffgrund 1, as well as the DolWin3 converter platform.

Ørsted, the developer of the 450MW project, plans to officially inaugurate the wind farm in 2019.
