Our sister news site OffshoreWIND.biz contacted Fred. Olsen Windcarrier after Buss Energy Group, which has been providing port logistics for wind turbine installation, reported it had completed its project for Trianel wind farm Borkum II.

A spokesperson from Fred. Olsen Windcarrier confirmed the Blue Tern was offshore with the last two turbines for TWBII, with the installation expected to be completed during the weekend, or early next week, subject to weather conditions.

Buss Energy Group provided port logistics with corresponding engineering services, as well as quality and operational safety services for the project.

The Blue Tern sailed out to the Trianel Windpark Borkum II offshore wind farm loaded with the first batch of turbine components at the beginning of March. The vessel was contracted to finish installing the remaining eleven turbines on the project, replacing Jan De Nul’s Taillevent, which was then reportedly on its way to start a project in Taiwan.

Trianel Windpark Borkum II is the second phase of Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum’s project offshore Germany. The wind farm will feature 32 Senvion 6.2 M152 turbines.

The first 200 MW Trianel Windpark Borkum phase comprises 40 5 MW Adwen turbines, which have been operational since 2015.
