Business & Finance

Bibby Marine Services has appointed Equinor’s Michael Martins as Business Development Manager.

Bibby said that the business goal is to add new vessels to its fleet, widening service offering and creating a larger geographical basis.

The company has thus developed a range of vessel designs and is cooperating with partners regarding additional services complementary to the core vessels.

The UK-based business added that it has put in place capability to deliver services in several geographical areas including Taiwan and the U.S.

“Michael is a seasoned professional within the marine and offshore renewables sector, a highly unique combination. We therefore know Michael will directly contribute to the further exciting growth that we plan,” said Stephen Bolton, Managing Director of Bibby Marine Services.

“This growth will deliver further vessels in Europe and other geographical territories and build on our strategy of supporting our customers by driving innovation and delivering simply the best customer service.”

According to Bibby, Martins has worked in the marine sector for over 28 years, with most recently holding the position at Equinor responsible for marine contracts for crew transfer vessels (CTVs) and service operation vessels (SOVs).

Before Equinor, Martins worked at Gardline Environmental as a vessel master on survey vessels for energy
clients including offshore renewables and oil & gas.

“I am extremely delighted to join one of the UK’s oldest shipping companies. Following the success of the Bibby WaveMaster1 and more recently the newly launched Bibby WaveMaster Horizon, I know Bibby Marine Services will go from strength to strength and look forward to my role in this ambitious growth plan,” said Martins.
