Bahri Adds Two Tankers

Business & Finance

The tanker shipping arm of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), National Company for Chemicals Shipping, signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding to purchase two tankers.

Under the deal, NCC will pay USD 28.5 million dollars per tanker.

The duo, MS Berganger and MS Brimanger, was previously owned by Norwegian shipping company Berganger KS, Bahri said.

The second-hand monohull tankers were built at Hyundai Mipo Dock, South Korea, in 2009 and managed by Bergen-based Westfal Larsen.

They are DNV-classed tankers of IMO 2 class, and feature 46,265 and 46,195 DWT respectively.

Bahri expects that the financial impact of the transaction will be felt during the third quarter of 2015.

National Company for Chemicals Shipping currently owns 24 chemicals tankers.
