Attalos and Asklipios LNGCs delivered to Capital Product Partners

Shipping company Capital Product Partners (CPLP) has taken delivery of two LNG carriers Attalos and Asklipios from the Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries.

CPLP took delivery on 18 November 2021.

Both Attalos and Asklipios LNGCs have a capacity of 174,000 cubic metres. The ships are also the latest generation of X-DF LNG carriers. Hyundai Heavy Industries constructed them this year.

The delivery took place in accordance with the exercise of the option to acquire three LNG carriers from CGC Operating announced on 4 November.

The two vessels were acquired for a total consideration of $403 million comprised of 107.1 million of cash at hand and the assumption of $295.9 million of debt.

Capital Product Partners currently owns 20 vessels. This includes 12 Neo-Panamax container vessels, three Panamax container vessels, one Capesize bulk carrier and four LNG carriers. In addition, the company agreed to buy two more LNGCs.
