Ashtead Expands with New Houston Base

Business & Finance

Ashtead Technology has completed its $2-million investment in a new Houston facility as part of its ongoing international growth plans.

The new building is three times the size of the previous one and should allow the subsea equipment solutions firm to increase its service lines and capabilities from its Gulf of Mexico headquarters.

The company has signed a seven-year lease and the new premises feature integration and calibration labs; electrical, mechanical and calibration workshops; a cable moulding workshop; a training room for equipment demonstration and educating its personnel and clients; a high-pile storehouse; and open plan offices for management and administration staff.

Last month, Ashtead also completed the expansion of its Singapore base following increased market demand in the Asia Pacific region.

Furthermore, Ashtead recently acquired Aqua-Tech Solutions based in Louisiana, increasing its operational bases serving the Gulf of Mexico region to three (Broussard, Houma and Houston). This is the fourth acquisition the firm has completed in the three years since it was acquired by Buckthorn Partners and APICORP.

As part of the most recent acquisition, Ashtead Technology has increased its team in the USA to 35 employees and has plans to further increase this in the next 12 months.
