Aqua Lab opens at RDM Innovation Dock

Research & Development

The hydrodynamic laboratory Aqua Lab has been opened at RDM Innovation Dock in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The facility comprises a 20×10 m water tank that is 1 m deep, and may be filled up to 70 cm.

The filling of the reservoir is done using two pumps.

It includes a wave generation system that can produce waves up to 15 cm high in 50-70 cm deep water.

The water lab will be used by Rotterdam University Civil Engineering and Naval Architecture students for technical training, but the facility can also be used by companies.

Within RDM Centre of Expertise educational institutions, research centres and companies are working together to improve technology, share knowledge and sustainable innovations.
