Vineyard Wind has contracted APEM for the second year of surveys at its 800 MW offshore wind project off the coast of Massachusetts.

The monthly surveys provide baseline information on the species that utilize the area to be used in environmental assessment reports, Vineyard Wind said.

“It has been a very challenging period given travel restrictions resulting from CV19, and our primary focus has been to ensure the safety of our staff and subcontractors,” said APEM President Stuart Clough.

“I am proud that the team has been able to safely and successfully continue to deliver our surveys, and I’m looking forward to continuing our successful working relationship with Vineyard Wind for a second year.”

Vineyard Wind will comprise GE Haliade-x turbines installed some 22.5 kilometers south of Martha’s Vineyard and 56 kilometers off the coast of the Massachusetts mainland.

It is being developed by a joint venture company of Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
