Anadarko, MITADER in resettlement MOU on LNG project

Anadarko informed that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Land Environmental and Rural Development, which defines the principles for the resettlement action plan for the Mozambique LNG project.

The MOU outlines the role of each party, establishes a framework for the design and implementation phase of the resettlement plan and ensures uniformity of vision, objectives and social, economic and environmental results among the parties, Anadarko said in a statement.

The company, together with its co-venturers in the Mozambique’s Offshore Area 1 has already selected a consortium consisting of CB&I, Chiyoda Corporation and Saipem (CCS JV) for the initial development of the onshore LNG park.

Anadarko operates the Offshore Area 1 with a 26.5-percent working interest. Co-venturers include Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos, Mitsui E&P Mozambique Area1, ONGC Videsh, Bharat PetroResources, PTT Exploration & Production and Oil India.
