Business & Finance

Alfa Laval, a provider of specialized products and engineering solutions, has won an order to supply its Framo pumping systems to a floating liquid natural gas (FLNG) vessel to be built in South Korea.

Alfa Laval said on Thursday that the order had a value of approximately SEK 50 million ($6 million).

The company added that the deal was booked in the Pumping Systems unit of the Marine Division, with deliveries scheduled for 2018.

Peter Leifland, president of the Marine Division, said: “It is very pleasing to once again be able to announce a large offshore order for our Framo pumping systems. Our pumping systems play a vital role in safe and reliable offshore operations. The order proves that we can meet the high demands from customers in this industry.”

This is Alfa Laval’s third Framo pumping system order this month.

One Framo system was ordered for installation a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be built in China. The order was valued at approximately SEK 70 million ($8.4 million).

The other order was for Framo pumping systems and emergency generators to an oil platform in the North Sea. This order was valued at approximately SEK 170 million ($20.8 million).
