Alaskan LNG Cargo on Way to Japan

The Kenai LNG terminal in Alaska shipped an LNG cargo to Japan, according to shipping data.

The cargo is being hauled by the 125.000 cbm LNG Gemini, and it is due to arrive at the Himeji LNG terminal on August 26.

The 1.5 MTPA Kenai Alaska LNG plant, operated by ConocoPhillips, started up in 1969 and has achieved over 40 years of uninterrupted supply to Japanese customers.

Kenai was the world’s largest plant when built, the first to serve the Asia-Pacific market, and the first to use gas fired turbines for process refrigeration.
