Aker BP shakes up financial positions

Norwegian E&P player Aker BP has made several changes to financial functions in the company.

Aker BP said on Thursday that Alexander Krane, the current CFO of Aker BP, would move to a position of investment director at Aker ASA.

At the same time, David Torvik Tønne became new CFO, while Lene Landøy became a director with responsibility for strategy and business development.

According to the company, both will be a part of the company’s executive management team and will report to CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik.

Regarding the appointments, Hersvik said: “Alexander has been fundamental in building Aker BP as we see it today. I’ve been working closely with Alexander since 2014. His efforts, abilities and enormous capacity has been invaluable to me. […] I am proud that we have excellent internal candidates who can take over the responsibility. I know both Lene and David well, and I am sure they will be a strong team.”

Tønne comes from the position of VP of corporate controlling in Aker BP and has been with the company since January 2017. He holds a master’s degree in finance from NHH Norwegian School of Economics. Before Aker BP, he worked for seven years in The Boston Consulting Group’s Oil and Gas team.

As for Landøy, she comes from the position of VP of strategy, portfolio, and analysis and has been with the company since January 2017. She holds a master’s degree in finance, from NHH Norwegian School of Economics and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Landoy also holds a master’s degree in international finance from the Skema Business School in France. Before joining Aker BP, she led Equinor’s business development unit on the Norwegian shelf.

The company added in its statement that the organizational changes would take place with effect from February 1, 2019.
