Aker BP chooses IKM Subsea for IMR work off Norway

Oil company Aker BP has awarded a subsea inspection and light intervention contract to independent ROV operator IKM Subsea.

IKM said on Monday that Aker BP awarded the company an ad-hoc call of agreement for light IMR services on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The ROV operator added that the duration of the contract was three years with an additional six years of options.

IKM Subsea will provide onshore project management, engineering, tooling preparation and offshore ops utilizing its Merlin ROV fleet.

IKM are happy to continue the strong relationship with Aker BP by adding yet another service line to the relationship.”

To remind, the last time Offshore Energy Today reported on IKM Subsea was for a services contract awarded by Equinor for work on the Johan Sverdrup development off Norway in May.

It was then said that the contract with Equinor on the Johan Sverdrup drilling platform in the North Sea would begin in the third quarter of 2018.
