With the acquisition of Samphire Subsea, THREE60 said it expects to further enhance its lifecycle solutions offering by adding subsea engineering, operations and decommissioning experience to its Subsea service line, formed in October 2023.

Samphire Subsea was established in 2012 by a team of subsea industry experts to provide services for operated assets in mature basins and has grown its capability in recent years to offer a fully integrated service to maximize the value and efficiency of operations and project delivery in the subsea sector, the company noted.

“We are excited for this next chapter in our growth, with the full support of THREE60 and its complementary range of services and products, the acquisition will allow us to offer an enhanced service to our customers. Not only is the acquisition transformative for our customers, it offers enhanced opportunities for career growth for our people who have been with us on our growth journey over the past 12 years,” said Paul Soutar, Managing Director of Samphire Subsea.

According to Walter Thain, Group CEO of THREE60, combining Samphire’s expertise in subsea engineering and project management with THREE60’s proprietary subsea flexibles and riser technology offers the opportunity to better support the subsea customer base across offshore oil & gas, decommissioning and renewables industries.

The combined offering is focused on delivering life cycle solutions and developing engineering technology to support the delivery of a sustainable future.

“THREE60 is a company that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and growth for our employees and both our service and product offerings. This latest acquisition provides a fantastic opportunity for cross-sector learning and knowledge sharing across all of our service lines and geographies. We are excited to welcome and learn from our new team members as they integrate into our wider group,” Thain said.

THREE60 was recently appointed to deliver the design and delivery of cable storage carousels, as well as cable handling equipment for the power cable factory that Japan-headquartered Sumitomo Electric Industries is building in Scotland.
