Thailand inaugurates first inland river port

Thailand has inaugurated its first inland river power which links inland industries through waterways. Located in Ayutthaya, the first phase of construction cost US$23.55 million. The port has been equipped with four cranes and other advanced facilities. Total loading capacity is 450,000TEU per year. Phase two of construction, scheduled to begin next year, will cost US$20.6 million and will establish its depot.
