Fire-hit oil tanker released by Malaysia authorities

A supertanker which was held by Malaysian authorities following a flash fire that killed four people has been released on Tuesday, the ship’s Singapore-based manager BW Shipping Managers Pte. Ltd. said. The 280,000-tonne Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) Suva, which was on its way to the Middle East when the incident occurred on Sunday, was released by maritime police in the northwest Malaysian state of Penang at about 0500 GMT, a company spokesman said.
