Inch Cape Surveys Underway

Inch Cape Offshore Ltd (ICOL) will be carrying out geophysical and geotechnical site investigations on the Inch Cape offshore wind farm from July to October to further improve understanding of the seabed conditions throughout the site located within the Outer Firth of Tay and Firth of Forth, Scotland.

The works are being carried out in the development area and offshore export cable corridor of the proposed wind farm.

The wind farm is located in the North Sea around 15km off the Angus coastline. The site covers an area of approximately 150km2 and will consist of up to 72 turbines supported by fixed foundations and substructures.

The 784MW wind farm will connect to the grid at the former Cockenzie Coal Power station in East Lothian.

The project is currently under development and is expected to enter construction in 2020.

ICOL is 100% owned by Red Rock Power, an Edinburgh-based company which is in turn owned by China’s SDIC Power Holdings.
