DEME to perform CPS stabilization work on Vattenfall’s two German offshore wind farms

Business Developments & Projects

Vattenfall has contracted DEME Offshore for cable protection system (CPS) stabilization work on the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in Germany.

The offshore wind farm owner/operator opened the tender for CPS stabilization work in June last year. According to a contract award notice published on a European tender website on 27 February, the value of the contract is nearly €3.6 million.

Located west of the island of Sylt, DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms each have a generation capacity of 288 MW.

DanTysk comprises 80 Siemens Gamesa 3.6 MW turbines that have been in operation since 2014. Sandbank offshore wind farm, which has been in operation since 2016, has 72 Siemens Gamesa 4 MW turbines.

The two offshore wind farms recently hosted a testing campaign organized by Ampelmann, Dutch Applied Scientific Research Institute (TNO) and Vattenfall, which put AI-powered cargo drones on trial at DanTysk and Sandbank.
