To remind, TGS reported earlier this week it was set to kick off offshore wind site characterization in the UK in the first quarter of 2025 using its Ramford Vanguard vessel, scheduled to last around 60 days.

The Norwegian company has now reported that it had won another offshore wind contract on the UKCS. Namely, this one will have a duration of approximately 30 days and will see Ramform Vanguard mobilize for the project in Q2 2025.

We are very pleased to secure more offshore wind site characterization contracts,” said Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS. “Our geophysical approach for mapping the shallow subsurface layers with an ultra-high resolution 3D streamer is significantly more efficient than conventional site survey solutions. Energy companies value the shorter lead time we can offer to access high-quality data.”

TGS won multiple new assignments over the past few months, including a 3D streamer contract in India and an ocean bottom node (OBN) contract in Europe, both due to begin early this year, as well as a “large” 3D streamer contract in the Southern Atlantic.

The Norwegian company will also perform a 3D streamer contract in Northwest Europe for the 2025 summer season.

Offshore Norway, TGS secured four 4D streamer contract acquisition projects, three in the North Sea and one in the Barents Sea.
