Sinopec, China Shipping, MOL JV Orders Six LNG Carriers

Sinopec Kantons, China Shipping Development, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines announced that they have entered into the agreements with Hudong – Zhonghua and China Shipbuilding for the construction of six LNG carriers with an anticipated total project costs of approximately US$1,510,000,000.

The expected delivery dates for the LNG carriers are on, or before April 2016, July 2016, November 2016, March 2017, July 2017 and November 2017 respectively.

These ships will carry liquefied natural gas from the Australia Pacific LNG Project, a joint venture located in Queensland, Australia between ConocoPhillips (42.5%), Origin (42.5%), and Sinopec (15%).
