According to the vessel owner, PXGeo has decided to prolong the OSCV Sea1 Spearfish’s assignment by exercising its option to extend the contract for one more year. As a result, the ship will continue to be engaged within the marine geophysical segment and support the charterer’s operations worldwide until Q1 2026.

The 2014-built Siem Spearfish is of STX OSCV 03 design and is capable of undertaking subsea operations such as construction and installation work, inspection, and maintenance. With a length of 120.80 meters, the vessel can accommodate 110 people.

In July, Sea1 Offshore also got a contract extension for its diesel-electric-driven multipurpose support vessel (MPSV) Siem Dorado with PXGeo for two years and a four-month firm period.

Recently, the Norwegian operator ordered two next-generation offshore energy support vessels (OESVs) from a Chinese shipyard. These OESVs are expected to be methanol-ready.
