India’s SECI and H2Global agree to advance green hydrogen collaboration

Hamburg-based H2Global, a foundation dedicated to accelerating the emergence of markets for clean hydrogen and other low-emissions technologies, and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build cross-border hydrogen collaboration.

The MoU signed on November 19, formalizes a partnership between H2Global and SECI and aims to establish international trade corridors for renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.

The partnership aligns with both India’s renewable energy targets and Europe’s transition to a clean energy future.

As informed, the collaboration will focus on enhancing knowledge exchange on market-based mechanisms and creating synergies to support renewable hydrogen supply and demand building on the H2Global mechanism for facilitating international markets for renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.

Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation, stated: “This MoU is a testament to the transformative potential of cross-border collaboration in building a global market for renewable hydrogen. Together, we are taking a decisive step towards a sustainable energy future.”

Timo Bollerhey, CEO of Hintco, added: “This agreement sets the stage for scaling up international trade in renewable hydrogen while fostering closer cooperation between India and Europe.”
