The 5,000 dwt Misje Lotus is the company’s sixth EcoBulk hybrid vessel. Measuring 89.95 meters in length, Misje Lotus will transport various types of cargo, including bulk cargo, grain, timber, unit loads, and containers.

The keel-laying ceremony for Misje Lotus was held in July 2023, followed by the launching ceremony in June 2024.

The EcoBulk hybrid bulk carriers incorporate a hybrid energy storage battery system. The concept and the basic design of the ships were developed by Wärtsilä Ship Design Norway AS. The fully integrated hybrid solution is expected to enable the vessels to sail in and out of port and perform cargo operations emissions-free.

The vessels from this series are designed to be converted to full zero-emissions operation as the technology develops.

To remind, Misje Rederi placed an order for up to ten eco-bulk carriers in August 2020.

The first bulker, Misje Vita, was delivered in September 2022.
