The naming ceremony was held on July 10, 2024, and Ilaria Azzimonti, Head of LNG Portfolio at Eni, served as the vessel’s godmother, christening the ship. The delivery is scheduled for August 23, 2024.

As per GasLog, this LNG carrier is 294.9 meters long and 46.4 meters wide. It has a cargo tank capacity of 174,000 cbm and is powered by two HP-2S MEGI engines.

GasLog said: “Staying true to our vision and core values ‘Safety, Integrity, Innovability and Inclusivity’ develops on the way we do things at GasLog. Together, we look forward to continuing to set new standards in the LNG shipping industry, driving progress, and fostering sustainable growth and positive impact for years to come. We wish GasLog Italy and her crew fair winds and following seas!”

To remind, the launching ceremony for the vessel was held at Hanwha Ocean shipyard at the beginning of 2024. Its construction began in March 2023.

GasLog Italy is one of four vessels currently being built by Hanwha Ocean, scheduled for delivery to GasLog between 2024 and 2025. The shipping company ordered the LNG carriers from DSME at the end of 2021.
