Within the project, Stork is set to conduct reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analyses on the technologies involved to identify areas for design and cost improvement.

Stork will perform analysis for five technology developers: Water2Energy, Tocardo, Oceans of Energy, FLASC, and Dutch Wave Power. These developers are involved in various aspects of renewable energy, including tidal and wave energy generation, energy storage, and offshore floating solar.

“We’re proud to contribute to the Offshore For Sure project, and to collaborate with a diverse group of passionate innovators to help drive affordable and reliable solutions for the energy transition”, said Ludolf Pijpker, Senior Consultant at Stork.

Stork will carry out “Technology Qualification” activities according to the IEC TS 62600-4 standard, ensuring the suitability and adherence of specific technologies or components. Expertise in digital twins and SCADA systems will also be offered for certain technologies, said O4S.

“We are excited about our partnership with Stork and the participating technology developers on these groundbreaking projects. Stork’s extensive experience and expertise in asset management contributes to the successful realization of these innovative solutions,” said Paul van Kempen, Director of World Class Maintenance.

The O4S project aims to expedite the regional energy transition by fostering collaboration between Flemish and Dutch partners, with an emphasis on technology de-risking, said O4S.

Back in April, Dutch Wave Power received a subsidy from Waddedn Fund (Waddenfonds) for large-scale testing and demonstration of its technology. The subsidy is co-financing the Offshore For Sure (O4S) project, in which 15 partners from Flanders and the Netherlands participate to accelerate the energy transition at sea.

The three-year O4S initiative is led by Bluespring and supported by the Interreg Flanders-Netherlands program for 2021-2027. The project partners will invest more than €10 million in the Flemish-Dutch border region, bolstered by the European Interreg program and co-financiers.
